the tang stamps look real to me. they look like the examples i have. the handles don't seem right though. but the backsprings seem to fit the blades as far as age. but i know very little about the company or knives they made.

Looks real to me..., I like the look of it.

Hello Kniferbros and PA I looked these two knives over. The first one has enough pictures to try to make a judgement on, the second knife not enough information for me. On the second knife there is no detail to pictures to tell much, the first knife the pictures are not much better but you can see some detail of the blade profile and the frame and handles. The handles look to me to be deteriorating, possibably even gassing. It is my guess that the first knife is real,the second I don't know. Hope I don't look stupid!!

The first one looks real, but the main blade tang stamp looks like it might be an overstamped "second" similar to the knives that are marked EAGLE PHILA.

Second one not enough detail....frame and handles look like Winchester/Walden/Keen Kutter. But would anyone fake a knife with the main blade broken and reshaped like that?

Looks like the small blade tang has been filed off round. Not being an expert would make me wonder about the small blade.

I would have purchased either of these knives with confidence. Both in my opinion are the real thing. If you disagree and you are welcome to do so, PLease tell me why you think I am wrong. I don't mind be corrected and learning, That's why we are here.

I liked the first one top to bottom, a nice old one that has been unmolested but in need of some TLC. the only flaw on this one is age, sometimes a truly old knife that has been unmolested in either good or rough shape can give the impression of having been messed with, but the signs are there if you look hard enough.

The second posted by PA ...well I would have my concerns as it is shown. I would want to see better photos of the knife and some shots of the stampings but the frame, handles and blade combination look ok. but going off of what I seen I would have concerns...in this case I would e-mail seller and ask for more photos and what the photos should be of then a good decision could be make. you can never have too much information to base a decision on and it can mean the difference on missing out on a real nice piece at a good price.
