All About Pocket Knives

Ive got this buck 303 stockman cadet, its pretty much mint, will it have a future value and what is its value now, i think its 75-early 80's model , im sure someone will know more, i like this knife a lot and it would make a perfect uk legal EDC plus i like its size and love the stockman pattern as blade selection i find perfect, what do you guys think, i dont abuse my knives so it wont get mashed up, but it is in pretty much perfect condition

well its in my pocket in a little pouch well ill still look after it like all my knives

A Buck knife in a little pouch, I don't know that I've ever heard of that before, it's a little pouch of death.....Right?

That knife is just beggin', to get some use, I think a bike ride and hike is in order for that guy.
Naaaah, throw it in your pocket, thats a real worker of a knife. My uncles carry the 303s and they love 'em.

ok no pouch its a free knife cool pic johnny these are real solid little knives, im off to sharpen it up a bit oh and johnny im off on a mountain bike ride monday so it will be in my backpack hope the fishing went well

Paul, if history repeats and it usually does, 50 or 100 years from now the common everyday things that get used, broken and thrown away will have value, especially if they're in mint condition. Since Antiques Road Show originated in the U.K., I'm sure you've seen plastic stuff from the 1950s given a high value and thought, "Who'd a thunk it?". You may have to wait 150 years for your little Buck to become valuable but everything comes to he who waits.

ill just have to make sure its passed down and i know what you mean, i watch the antique road show every sunday (tonight) shame i dont have a box for it things in there boxes seem to go for way more,

I don't want to discuss the fishing, it was horrible and a waste of time.
But at least I got to take the knives out on a stroll though.

I'm gonna get a 303 one of these days, but right now I'll stick with the tank of a knife I have in the 301.
I love them Buck 300 knives.

I know what you mean mate, i fished for years and usualy cought a cold and nothing else, although me and my brother had many a great night fishing session, usualy involved beer and no fish days pre children ill go fish again one day, but i love getting out in the middle of nowhere on my bike, i just hope my daughter goes to school monday as ive been up since 3am as she was sick all morning she seems fine now and hasnt been sick since 7am, i think she had too much to eat sat as we had a monthly pay day treat of KFC and she ended up eating most of here sisters sa well think it was pay day this am,i need a good ride monday so i hope she is ok for school

Find yourself a BUCK 307 and use 'er to chop down some trees.

I'd bet your constabulary would seriously look askance at one of those in your pocket.


It's nearly as big as a 110. I didn't have my 110 in easy reach or I'd have used it for comparison. That 970 Puma on top is the same size as a 110 just not quite as heavy.

Beautiful knife Wullie, I'm sure that thing could handle a days work.

Wilie cool pic, love the look of pumas that 307 is huge, is the blade under 3iches ? if it is im going to look for one

Your 303 was made in the early eighties by Camillus, under contract with Buck.
It was produced a number of years without change in style. It is fairly often seen on auction websites. I would use it and enjoy it. Then watch for a 303 like the 301 pictured, it would be a Buck made model and be of 425M steel. After 89 Buck began to change the four models into knives with a spring for every blade, stainless linered knife.

Buck took over the manufactor of the 301,303,309 and 305 in late 1985. Other models were still made by Camillus, even into the early 2000s.

Sadly, it would get you in trouble over there. The main blade is around 3.25". It is a handful.

Thanks for this info mate, i read somewhere that mine was from 75-84 so they was wrong, i never knew camillus made knives for buck, great info,

willie sadly my edc has to be under 3inches so looks like a 301 is out im after a opinel at the mo as a cheap edc plus never had one before so wont to try one out, they come in lots of sizes but after no5 they all have a lock ring but just found out the locking ring is easily removed, tough her in the uk with our laws,
