I picked up this ole guy recently. When I first saw it at a glance I almost passed out!! ha ha! "BUT" after taking a look at it the small blade is broken off near the tang. The master blade is in my opinion in very good condition. The handles are absolutely beautiful with 3 small pin cracks. One on the front pin to the bolster and two on the backside front pins to the bolster. According to my research these things value at anywhere from $2500.00 to $6000.00 in good condition. I didnt put much into this one although I still think it may have some significant value even with the broken blade. This is why I always turn to this forum to get some fellow collectors opinions on grade, value etc. etc. Please tell me what your honest opinion is of this knife. I have no intentions of selling it at the present time because these are the old guys that I love to collect because they have such a history in the cutlery industry but in case I would decide to sell it in the future I would like to have a gerneral idea of course. Thanks to all in advance!

Ctaylorman,

The knife is awesome. I know exactly who you may want to contact on a rare knife like this one. He is IMO the best resource for this knife because its his passion, Swell Center Sunfish. He is also the president of the IKC Knife forum, Scott King. I have emailed him several times and he is an awesome fellow, I'm sure he would provide you with what your looking for.

NICE KNIFE!!!!!

I here ya. I know my hundred budget every once in awhile might be a mountain shy of a beauty like that. It is an awesome "beast of a knife" It certainly got the intended job day in its day. I'm a toenail fanatic until it comes too such rarities like this one..... ::ds:: Well maybe someday I'll have the opportunity ::smirk::

Even with a leg off,,thats one of the best old toe nails i've ever seen. The tang stamp is VERY GOOD.
