All About Pocket Knives

I think I'm learning from this site and browsing the internet and reading up on articles on pocket knives...
Knives - especially the old ones with "older steel" are better quality and collectable....
are pocket knives made in England just as "collectable" as the ones made in the USA?

I realize this opens up a whole "can of worms" topic about collecting and that its specific to the collector themselves on what they want in their collection, but I picked up a couple of nice ones (EATON) and an IMPERIAL PROV RL....(USA) the other day at an old second hand store....

Personally, I'm a little disappointed in the companys that are bringing their knives in from overseas under USA legend brands.

Your disappointment is shared by many of us here in this forum.
As far as the collect-ability of English knives, I would say it depends on the manufacturer, just as it does with American knives.

I like to spend my money on made in USA knives though I do own a couple of good knifes from Europe . But thats just me. Rick

Hi Ratchet. Welcome to the site. I like to collect a variety (American, German, English) but my favourite knives are from Sheffield. In general, the recently produced Sheffield knives are not really collectable. I like the older knives and the history associated with them. Start with what looks good to you and then with in a short time you will notice that your tastes and interests will develop in a particular and unique way. Just my 2p. Looking forward to seeing what develops. s-k
