From what it looks like to me...
Someone scratched Case XX on the bolster, that or it was very very worn away.

i am talking to seller. he did'nt know what a tang was so i explained and he will look for markings.

I thought the bolster looked too flat and not rounded like a Case.

Funny the difference in a quality picture vs crummy ones, and that the blade(s) aren't even displayed! Some sellars must take poor pictures on purpose, I've seen blurry out of focus, distant, and poorly angled...., already I think I'm learning the seller(s) are hiding something and the item is something to stay away from!

Sometimes that is very true. Other times I knew exactly what I was looking at and got some real bargains. The most common reason I see for bad pictures on ebay is that they try to get to close to the knife when taking pictures and end up with a picture that's all fuzzy and out of focus. Not many sellers are decent photograpers; some barely know how to use a digital. Anyway, I have gotten many bargains by actually looking for auctions with bad pictures and lousy descriptions. But I only bid when I know exactly what it is.

After reading the knife photographing article in Dec. Knife World, I can hardly wait to get set up and give it a try. I will probably list some traders on Ebay. That was a very good article.

That knife is authentic, the CASE XX on the bolster appears to be authentic.

looks real enough to me. i bid on it yesterday after talking to the seller.

10.50 good price, from the pic and details looks legit enough for me
