Knocked off a block of Spruce to send to a carver who has not tried it yet. Decided
to cut one right out of the woodpile.

Hey, that's slick. A fine and accurate job. Heck of a bar on that saw.

Sitka spruce is also a fine tone wood used for guitar tops as well.

My favorite for guitar tops, along with East Indian Rosewood back and sides.

Yes it does make exceptional guitar parts, and at least one VERY large airplane.
It's going to Carvin Don as a thank you for the knife he sold me in last Thursdays
auction. He sold me a Tidioute Black Pearl Congress Test Run #12 of 13. It got
here yesterday and is top shelf. Thanks Don.

(The saw has a 32" bar in that pic, I normally run a 36" on that saw, but didnt have
a 36" chain ready, so I installed the shorther bar cause I had 32"s that were sharp.
Thats why the bar looks new, that was the first time I had run that small a bar on
that saw! - Stihl 660 is a little 'motor-heavy' with a 32" imho)
