What's your take on bone or stag GEC's that have something different about them
like a natural scar, a bit of a mismatched scale, veiny lines, etc?
And why don't I ever see a used one for sale?

I'm not sure what you are refering to , but these are the only examples that I have of GEC's stag (I no longer have them) . These were made for me by GEC . Is this representative of the characteristics you were referring to ?

Yes, those are definitely something special alright. I'm always on the lookout for
something a bit different or unique, and was just wondering if I'm the only one.

I see nothing wrong with the stags posted above. This is one is mismatched as it gets IMO, but I took a chance on it via the big auction site, and got it for a decent deal. (Saw the mismatch in the auction pics, but hoped it was better than the pics showed.)

Nontheless, I like the EO 25s and this one was bought as a user, so I've gotten over the color mismatch. I love the shield and the matchstriker pull, so I'm still pleased with it. So does it have character, or is it plain ugly?

You can't hurt my feelings...

I like all of these. The green #25, is it just that the color is darker on one side?
That wouldn't bother me at all.

I see that one, Monk. Almost looks like the slabs came from two different
knives. It's still a cool knife, though.

Yep. Darker on the pile side, and a bit "streaky" on both.
Monk, yours would bother me a bit, but only because stag comes with a premium price and therefore you kind of expect more. Especially from GEC stag. It's still positively an exceptional looking knife though.

I have a smooth red #25 and it is a little streaky, especially around the edges.
Doesn't bother me, especially since I carry it.

Monk, that would bother me a bit as well, given the premium it goes for, although I feel like a bit of a brat to admit it ...
Beautiful knife nonetheless, but you gotta wonder what the guy in the "scale room" is lookin at when he picks those two as "mates" ... am I the only one who wonders that ... ?

This'un has mismatched scales, but I bought it for a carry knife so it doesn't really bother me. Still sharp and works excellent!

Even when buying a custom made knife by a GR8 knife maker it is a smart thing to do.
Here is one I was very happy to get. and 3 weeks later found this black line on the handle and tryed to get a refund. Well the seller wound not refund it.
