Clarence Risner

Has anybody heard from Clarence Risner lately? Three e-mails sent over the last month or so have gone un-answered. Guess I'm a little concerned, he's usually pretty prompt with his replies. Hope all is well.

Clarence is at his show this weekend, in Wilmington, Ohio. I would love to be there or any knife show for that matter.

Thanks, glad to hear he's OK. Maybe he's just tired of cashing all those checks I send him haha. Just weird that he wouldn't answer an e-mail inquiring about two knives I want to buy. Guess I'll call him after the show is wrapped up.

Clarence is doing good my friend and I spent some quailty time with him Friday.

Yes, Had a great time. There was a nice turn out of dealers and alot of great knives to look at. Queen was there with the new Heritage Series on display ( very impressive) they also had the new Rangers and the 8th Edition President's Choice Knife which is a Stag Equal End Cigar. Queen was handing out free knife picks and catalogs also. I talked with Jenny about the Heritage Series and she told me Queen sold every run they produced already to dealers, these reproductions are true to the originals with blade,bolster, liner,and handle materials. I was able to talk to David Clark, David Krauss,Mrs. Fisher,GEC's Ken Daniels,Case XX collector Tony Foster(awsome collection of mint Case knives) and Clarence, all great people. I had a great time and picked up some nice Schatts including a Series #16 set,a Queen Bridseye Maple #51,a Winchester 1987 Stockman and a real nice 1 of 25 Northfield Burnt Stang #62 Courthouse Whittler from Ken's table. Clarence told us he is going to do it again next year!

Sure sounds like a great time! Wish I lived close enough to an area that had shows. Funny how the center of knife production in times past (New England) now has such a scarcity of shows. It's also next to impossible to find any older knives worth buying here. Flea markets and antique stores seem to have worn out cheapies. Thank goodness for the internet!
Buckeye, you mentioned that you bought a Winchester at the show. What series was it? One of the Bluegrass offerings?
