I asked Muskrat Man to repair a knife which was in sorry condition when I sent it to him. The handles were gassing, cracked and terrible. The back spring was broken and the blade was rusty, scratched and all the metal was corroded. I just received to back today. Below are the before and after pictures.
Thank you Kaleb.

He even put the strips in the scales back in the same place. I'd buy him a extra drink for that kind of attention to detail.

A friend just brought this Hammer brand switch that was his grandfathers and wondered how to get it fixed. It has a broken spring, and a little damage to the shell. He wants to know if it can be fixed and how much?? (he is not too well off)
MM, what do you think??

I think the spring would be easier to fix than the celluloid, unless you have a spare cell handle layin around that fits the same toothpick. My 2 cents.

my .02 leave it alone, and find a similar knife in better shape if he wants one to carry or use. They were built pretty flimsy and don't led themselves to repairs
