All About Pocket Knives

Well, I recently parted with my smaller GEC but then I'm not
the collector I use to be, so I kept the bit larger 62 model with stag scales
on the bolsters the have some grooves cut in, but they can be not as noticable
after a while, so I took a fine pointed magic marker and swiped down each groove
to bring back the contrast of the groove and the smooth;

A great knife, I try to put her to use every day, blades are still solid, with no play whatsoever and sharp too!

i don't know if it's any more permanent than markers, but markers are a heck of a lot cheaper!

btw, i completely agree - the 62 is a winner.
it finds its way into my pocket more than any other these days.

Ringed bolsters have always been a fav of mine and GEC has really brought them back into popularity!

Whoah, that looks like a real mixer there, I guess I'll stick to the markers for now

I also wondered about using black nail polish?? not that I have any of that...but I guess they sell it?
that may last longer, might check that out later on, as usage does rub the marker out after a while.

It does last quite a while though, just when you apply it, try to use a paper towel with a hard backing
behind it so it doesn't get pushed down into the grooves as you wipe away the excess from the surface
and of course DO NOT wipe towards the scales!! I'm afraid once that gets on there, you may not get it back off !

I think it looks great I've used testors model enamel paint on some scotty cameron putters works great. I think it will work good for knife use also. J.AT.
