I have seen a couple examples of some factory work on some liners. Not sure if it was done by a file or not. If any body has pictures of factory or custom worked liners and or springs, Please post some pics. Thanks Gary.

I don't have a pic handy, but what you refer to is called jimping.
These are made by running the liner through a machine that makes the grooves or lines in the liners. I believe it is done before the knife is assembled.

This seems to be the most common factory work I can find. Pics should enlarge.

Thank you Gary.
That is an excellent example of typical Camillus jimping.
It is interesting to note that Schrade tended to do more jimping on the backside of the liners, mostly the full length of the liner. I can’t recall off the top of my head, (in an early morning caffeine deprived state) seeing any Schrade with jimping on the inside liners, mostly on the outside.
The pattern you show here is like several Camillus I have in my collection. The broken pattern jimping on your outside liners is something I have only seen on Camillus knives. I think perhaps it was a unique pattern to Camillus. IIRC, this pattern is more frequently seen on Sword Brand Camillus knives, (but not exclusively), than on the regular Camillus branded knives. Sword Brand was Camillus’ top of the line knives and often reflect it in the quality of materials and a little extra work, such as the jimping.

That's the old post where I found the examples.
I should have giving your name and credit as to the pics. Sorry Gary.
