All About Pocket Knives

I just ordered a rough rider stockman, ive heard a few good things about these for the money, and for £8.95 i thought i would see for my self, anyone else had any

I own a few Rough Riders and for an inexpensive knife I think they are pretty darned good. They aren't of the same overall quality of some of the higher priced knives but that is to be expected. You do get what you pay for, or more correctly stated, you pay for what you get.

cheers phil. i dont have much to compare it too at the moment other than my buck 303, but as you say the inexpensive so hopefully will get plenty of pocket time , sadly im low on funds at the moment so these are in my budget, i look forward to getting it

zed, I think it will make an excellent EDC for you at a price you can afford. Enjoy and let us know how you like it.

After you get the knife and have an opportunity to evlauate it a bit, I would appreciate your returning to this thread to post your thoughts about the knife.

Rough Rider knives seem to be the best of the low priced asian knives. jmo

I carried one for awhile on the farm cutting everything from feed sacks to sisal haybale string. Cleaned battery posts, stripped wire, etc. etc. etc. It held up well for the price I paid for it.

I am currently carrying a S&W stockman in rams horn I bought at wholesale cost and it doesn't seem to hold an edge quite as good as the Rough Riders did.

I don't expect it to be in the class of say a GEC or Queen, but for what it is at the price you can get it they are very usable tools IMHO.

Let us know you're experience when you get it.

did my reply get the boot?,, i typed in that i own several rough riders and use em for all sorts of chores around the house and property. but i carry only higher end knives since i own about 3000 pocket knives.. maybe lure some unsuspecting knife addict out into the open.. rough riders hold an edge pretty good, and they also take an edge pretty good also,,, chet

sorry i didnt see another post from you ? they sound like good useable pocket knives, 3000 i only have around 6 lol, altrhough growing weekly, i ordered the peanut as well so 2 RR on there way for me to try out

I carry a newer kissing crane for my edc. I do have a few higher end knives and only really carry those when i'm out and about, like chet..maybe lure some unsuspecting knife addict out into the open.. Now, you guys have tempted me into buying a rough rider and checking those out I guess i'll add a little flavor to the collection....

I have a Rough Rider stockman and it is a pretty good knife! I bought it several years ago because it was relatively inexpensive, was the largest stockman I have ever seen, and came with a real nice sheath!! This thing is 4.5 inches closed. Here is a photo of it next to my next largest stockman, a Buck 307. Oh...I also thought it was a really good looking knife!

thanks for the post, i class myself as a collector well new one to pocket knives but not to knives, sadly as i stated funds are low so these fit my price range, i love looking at all the other great knnives but thats about all ill be doing, as far as im concerned if the member has no interest in certain knives then dont bother posting , thanks again

Well just had to wait 1 day from HH and the RR stockman arrived this am, im really impressed for the price, i would pay more TBH as there well made and look good to boot , cant wait to try it out, oh and it came sharp , glad i chose this as my first one and now looking forward to the peanut

cheers guys ,im really impressed with this knife, its very sharp and got a solid snap,its a nice size as well and fits in the hand nicely, im looking forward to trying it out, its in my pocket as we speak and it will come to work with me tonight, im really enjoying this site and has lots of very helpfull folk on here, thanks in advance for answering all my questions im going to ask lol, and yes woody fell over, buzz is next to him out of shot, my kids love toy story , actualy so do i lol, it just seemed right having a cowboy in the pic
