Hello folks, "Crumugeonintraining here. I'm a 53 YO feller who has always just plain appreciated knives of all sorts. I've grown out of the young "Huge knives are the only cool ones" phase, and currently carry nothing larger than a 3.5 inch blade, plus at least one utility type device, either a boy-scout knife or a multi-tool. (Plus always at least two flashlights and a fire starting device.)

I'm here because I own an approx 140 year old folding knife made by Krusis Brothers and I'm trying to determine its worth and history. Not that I would sell it unless things got dicey, since it belonged to my great great grandfather, but I'd like to know more about it.

If anyone does know something about the Krusis folders I'd like to hear from you. use raven2004@ptd,net if you want.

Other than that, I own and use a number of blades, from a 1.5 inch gentleman's pocket knife, to a couple of Kukris and a machete or two.
One thing I can not stand is how so many of today's generation (and some of the more sheepish older folks as well) are so in fear of knives, and look on those who carry them as some kind of barbarian or savage! What ever happened to self-sufficiency?

Curmudgeon out!

Howdy there TJ! I LOVE bluegrass, even though I'm originally from NY. Wonderful music!
Anyway I', trying to figure out how to take a picture and post it - but I'm a technological moron and I always screw it up when I try!

If I can figure out how - oh wait a minute - I'll look through my recent other emails, and find a picture from a friend's post to me - wait right here and I'll go look for it! The pic is almost exactly like mine is -

OK I'm back. Here's a link to the picture of the knife just like i have if it helps.

Mine is darn near just like this one - but this pic doesn't show the corkscrew on the spine that mine has. Also - this one is a JS Henkels, mine is a Krusius Brothers.

Thanks sir - you keep a pickin and I'll keep a grinin!

::welcome:: to AAPK.

Here is a link to a thread that gives detailed instructions on posting a picture here on AAPK.

If you can get the hang of it, I'd suggest you post a picture and write up in the "Knife Lore" forum where the guys who study, collect, and know all about older vintage knives hang out.

Glad you decided to join the fun. Hope you like it here.

Phil
