Here are some small German autos made between 1903 and 1950.
Various opening mechanisms: tab release, ring twist, and scale release.

Hello Sauconian, Curmudgeon here. I just joined the site and I'm looking for information about a German made knife I own. Perhaps you might know something about the mfg?
I have a Krusius Brothers, Germany 4.5 inch folder with stag stocks, a corkscrew and a damascus blade. Its approx. 140 years old and I'd like to know more about it. Its perfect except that grandpa used an electric sharpener (OOHHHH!) on it a few times, and the blade is not as wide as it originally was. Its hard to tell, but noticeable if you're a knife guy. I'd be happy to hear from anyone who knows more than I do.
On aside note - if you like Bowie knives, look for a brand new book by a good friend Paul Kirchner, titled Bowie knife fights, fighters and fighting techniques from Paladin press. Paul is the author of a number of martial-arts related blade books, and this one is a really good treatis on the Bowie knife.
