All About Pocket Knives

Can anybody give me a value for this little Ideal Knife Co. knife?
It has nice cracked ice handles with white liners. It looks like it
might have been a key chain knife.
Levine's 4th ed says Ideal Knife Co trademark IDEAL/U.S.A. was located in Providence, RI operated from 1926-c. 1986 .
And Goins' says in addition to what is listed above that Dominick & Michael Marseli, with Phillip Magioni founded the company. They went to shell-handle construction in the late 1930's.

skoal, although it is a cool little knife I dont know that it has much value. You can still find them pretty easily. I would estimate between 10.00 and 20.00 depending on where you get it.

I took this knife to a recent knife show and nobody was interested.
Not even for $5.00.

Skoal, I would have bought it for 5.00 LOL! Its a cool little knife but there are many of them still around. I prob have a dozen of them. But to a real knife collector, that is someone who has a lot of knives not for investments but just because he loves knives - thats still a cool little knife.

I think it's one of the oldest knives I own.
I like it too, it's small and does not take up much space.
Someday it will be worth $100.00, (long after i am dead and gone.)

Mike (313 Mike) just bombed me with one that's very similar. It is a very cool little knife. I think I'm going to sharpen the blade and carry it for a while.

I know it's not the greatest knife, but I couldn't resist when I saw it...

Are Ideal Knife Co. and "The" Ideal the same company?

These knives I remember getting out of a gumball machine for 25 cents when I was a kid "early 70's".
Usually came with steel ball chain to clip on your belt loop.
You could also win them as prizes in arcades on the boardwalk.

Here is a little Ideal display card I've had for many years. Interesting in that I don't believe it was designed to stand up but rather meant to hang. Missing a few knives but I love the colors.

I hate to resurrect such a long dead thread but this could answer my question in a heartbeat. I posted a tang stamp and was pointed to the Ideal knife co. After googling, this was the first result. The stamp is basically gone, but surprisingly the knife is in decent shape. It has super thin cracked ice type handles and mine has a "Florida" metal thing glued to the side. I figured it wasn't worth much unless it was super early, but I saw the shell type production and figured it was later. Is this an Ideal knifd co. tang stamp in your opinion... it is in mine, but I don't trust myself alone haha. Thanks!

I picked up this little ideal single blade folder today. Any one know about what year it might be or any info would be much appreciated thankx
