All About Pocket Knives

Hi. I have a Fight'n Rooster 4-blade congress that has "end of the day" celluloid handles and no bolsters. The knife is tang stamped Frank Buster Celebrated Cutlery Germany which would make it from the 1982 - 1994 era. My question is what kind a congress pattern is it? Would you call it a bolsterless 4-blade congress? I could not find one like it in the Parker Knife Encyclopedia or in Levines Guide to Knives and Their Values 4th ed. Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to give me.

Your knife is pictured on Page 101 of the Fight'n Rooster book that Jim Parker wrote some years ago. It is listed as 1 of 300 and has a book value of $90.00. The title of the book is Fight'n Rooster Knives, Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow.

Butch...olderdogs1 has nailed it. It is listed with the other Congress patterns, but is described as having No Bolsters.

Howdy Butch,

Bill is correct, olderdogs1 has roped down the book information for ya & I would like to add a little extra on her myself as I used to collect the Fightn Rooster line of knives years ago (had over three hundred knives at one time) ....I have had a few chances to speak with Frank on his knife patterns & I can tell you that all End of Day knives from Fightn Rooster are the most sot after in his whole line, even more than Mother of Pearl & this here Congress is called the bare head Hump Back pattern!!!

I really appreciate it. I recently bought a Case Classic and was super impressed. Needless to say I have since aquired 5 more

. So I have been looking through my knives picking some out that I am going to sell, so I could buy some more CC's and this was one of the knives I picked out to sell and I just wanted to get all the facts straight before I put it on ebay. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with me. I truly appreciate it.

ButchTN ; Just my thinking why not place it in Knife-Auction.com here first and give the AAPK first chance at your old knife. Then if it not bring what you want on it ,go to E-Bay.

I sometimes think if you all like this site it might be nice to first try to buy/sell here first. I have gotten knives from here and well pleased with the condition of the sale and the knife.
I did it at first just to help out and repay people here that help me learn.
