GEC Blade Snap

Has anyone gotten a GEC made trapper that had soft blade snap? I have a new one that is soft on both blades, not like weak soft, just not what I've gotten use to seeing coming from GEC on their knives. I cleaned it out at the blade pivots and oiled it and that helped some, but it's still nothing close to the snap I'm used to on a GEC knife. It hasn't been used or carried so there's no chance that pocket garbage got into the blade pivots to gum them up. I think I remember reading that GEC was going to work on the strong snap on their knives because they had complaints about it being too strong. The knife I have was made in 2008 and I don't know if that is the year GEC began their work on weakening the snap a little on their knives to please the sissy customers who couldn't open them. The GECs that have strong snap will work their way down to a sweet spot after a little use and become easy to open without feeling weak. Any ideals or comments from anyone?
