All About Pocket Knives

ok guys i really need your help i will probably be spending around 20-50 dollars on most of my knives ,but i would like to eventually spend about 100 dollars on a very special piece. the one i will call my prized knife. it will be later down the road before i do this , but i was wondering if you guys had 100 dollars to spend on any knife which one would you pick?

1st - Make sure it is a knife that appeals to you.
2nd - Inspect it for quality and workmanship.
3rd - Say "Engine, engine number nine coming down the line. If the train jumps the track will I get my money back?"

I like three to four bladed knives, my favorite being the stockman, whittler and congress patterns. If I spend a hundred dollars It will be for one of those.

Hmmm. If I had $100 to spend on just 1 knife...

Well, right now the http://www.japaneseknifedirect.com has holiday pricing on some Mcusta knives the I would love to get my hands on. Several of them are under $100. Been wanting to try one out for a while now.

Take your time and pick well.. What you pick today and purchase may not be where your taste will be in 6 months or a year from now.

My recommendation is that you follow the rules stated by Turkey Creek Tom, buy wisely where your heart is leading you.

I always wanted certain knives that I could not afford at the time, but chose to pursue affordable quality knives in my budget that made me quite proud and happy. I have since sold off those knives over time and with that money and the increase I made on those knives I have been able to purchase a higher quality collection.

You will find out that there are some incredibley beautiful knives out there that catch your eye and change your direction of your collection. That is part of the fun and addiction of our hobby...

Sunburst just gave you a very good Idea. (I was trying to link a post to this post at the time sunburst posted this. It is the one that YOU sunburst completed your set for the first time.) I could not make the link thingy work.

I think that is very impressive.

Make a goal and work on it .

If you now start with Camillus Cutlery just one that might go up in value (U.S.A.) try to get a complete set like Sunburst did.

I think you are getting $100.00 from your Grandmas as a Christmas gift?
If this is so then make her proud of her Grandson. Show her your goal and how you plan to make it work. I would hope she would like this more than you just going out and buying a knife.

To answer your question; not many smoother than a pearl S&M Large Congress.

thanks for the great advice guys. yeah i really do like those schatt and morgan knives. but scout the only place i will be going if my knife starts talking to me is to hide under the blankets. lol

what about moki knives i kind of like the looks of those does anyone own one of those?
