All About Pocket Knives

Hi folks, and thank you. I've really enjoyed the photos of so many awesome knives posted here.

About a year ago I went to ebay to find an Old Timer (Americian made, of course) for my dad for Christmas. Well, right away I was hooked! Over the past year I've purchased about 50 knives. Some junk at first, but I'm learning. So far I've been focusing on Case, Schrade, Boker (thats what my granddad carried) and any congress knife, but I'm starting to get a real interest in Western knives. I still have the W 66 that I got for Christmas 30 yrs ago. Are there any Western collectors here?

Well I have a Rosewood Canoe (I really like wood handled knives) , a Grand Canyon Bone Congress (my first Congress), a Red Bone Jigged Slimline (a gift from my dad), and a Lg Delrin Stockman (just like Granddad used to carry). With my new intrest in 4 Blade Congress knives I'm shopping for a Stag Congress. Do you have any advise on which Bokers would be good investments? What's your favorite Boker?

Hi Murf. I don't have any canoes. Can you post a photo of yours? The Grand Canyon is a great series. My GC congress is posted under the Congress thread in the general forum. I have GC whittler, stockman, congress, trapper, and copperhead. I think these are very nice. I don't know anything about investing... I just buy what I like. Welcome murf! This is a great site, with photos of all kinds of fantastic knives that will leave you drooling. No doubt you'll see something and decide that, "I need to get one of those". I'm guilty on that one for sure! Welcome to a great website, full of knowledge, where you can depend on fellow members to share their insights and knowledge to help you on your knife purchases. We also look out for each other when it comes to counterfeits and sellers who are less than honest. Don't be afraid to ask!

Yeah, I do too but I feel a little better about spending the kids college tuition on knives that will hopefully hold value.

Here's that Rosewood Canoe. The bolsters are a little scratched. I bought it on ebay and when it arrived there was no wax paper in the box. I've grown to love it though. It's one that I can carry and not have to worry about scuffing it up. Thanks for the warm welcome guys!
