All About Pocket Knives

Anybody have a #89 Melon Whittler? I was really drawn to these. Whats the blade steel? On the website I was looking on it said 1095 or 440c.

I don't think they have made a Great Eastern branded model yet; thus it is 1095.

i,m not sure if this is the one . if it is its 1085

Hey Paul, that's an executive Whittler. I have one in another color combo. They have great GEC snap I really like mine.

singin, i like the gec brand the best now they are well built for sure.

Is this what you had in mind? It has smooth goldenrod bone and PPP (Pattern Production Premier) on the back and blades made from 1095 steel.

yes nice one . they sure do make nice knives

American walnut wood, zebra wood, cocobolo wood, ebony wood, and snakewood.

I don't know anything about the steel but I sure like the #89.

They are certainly high quality knives, I own one.

Here's a couple of #89s in American walnut wood. I had the darker one for quite some time now but the light one is a new addition... I picked it up in a swap. Both of them are in spear blade, since I have two I am planning on carrying the darker one.

I picked this one up in clip blade to go along with my new spear. don't have it yet but here's some borrowed pics of it.

Yep... Jerry, all 3 of these are stainless.
They were all released in 2012.

#89 river boat gambler/melon tester in American walnut wood with a clip blade. I'm thinking this one will compliment my spear blade quite nicely.
