Call me an old softy, but I was in a junk store and saw this old girl in a box and couldn't bring myself to leave her. Yes it has been messed with, but the quality of this old knife is amazing. Heavy and well made. I love the schrade stamp on the bolster too. The blades are wrong as someone tried to change it. I actually know the history of this knife indepth. If a schrade lover out there would like to adopt this old girl and try to bring her back to her original glory, please contact me and I will send her to you free of charge. I just could let it die in that box. I think the handle is called Marine Pearl????? not sure on that and I did find a pattern number but don't have it handy at this time. OK, if it is junk than so be it. I will put her in the junk box I have, but surely someone other than me can see possibility of this old knife as a "real keeper"

I too am a softy. I got these on E bay some time back. Item number: 280028700973. My plan was to make a one of a kind knife out of these just for me. I wanted to find a rehandler to make one in to Red Heart Mosaic Abalone. As of today I have not found any one to do this for me.

One man I sent e-mails to but never got an answer yet.
Thanks to this post it reminded me.

Any one know who can and will do this for me?
(That had some work done by him allready.)

If MM can't fix that I would love to take a shot at it. I love the old Schrades & love the old Barlows & Jacks. That looks like the forerunner of 2OT, one of the first Old Timer patterns. You are right they are solid old girls.

i wouldnt be able to fix it but i would take it and like it just the same id just buy a small hardboard display box to keep it in. if somebody does want it that does know how to fix it you can give it to them first though.

The Schrade from Pa arrived today. This is a nice knife, very well built (didn't expect much less ). It is going to be a bit of a challenge, but I'm game for nearly anything. Now, to get some good blades for this ol' jewel! Thanks Pa!

NO problem,

It just seemed to be to good of a knife to be rusting away. I love the stamp on the bolster and heft of the overall knife. Looking forward to the day that show its rebirth. Keep in touch

Pa knives and muskrat man; This would be cool if you took the time to snap a photo of a step by step make-over
of this old, sick, poor, miss used, mentally ill, emotionally drained, road hard and dropped off and cased away, sorry looking toothless sea hag.

Just look at her you can see that she had a stroke. She has diabetes (see her amputation). She was pushed too hard I see by her broken blade and preyed the wrong way far too long (and it was her last blade too.). No dough in my mind she has osteoporosis or and arthritis. She is mentally ill and has emotionally problem I can tell by her cracked shield.
I bet her Dr.’s even gave her way to many drugs for a long time and now she has a loss of memory.

Oops I am so sorry I was describing my grand mother’s condition.

Step by step pics, not a problem, it would be my pleasure, kinda nice to see one come together. I have some blades coming from Dale, so we'll see if they fit, if they do, step one will be complete, then the rest is cosmetic
