Any way to remove scratches from the blades of old knives?

Are they deep scratches? I doubt there's any way to remove scratches from a knife although a professional restorer might very well be able to do the job. I've tried several methods on a particularly scratched knife of mine and none of them seem to work.

No, they seem to be light ----probably from sharpening.
