All About Pocket Knives

Id like to start by saying "thanks" to all the members of AAPK THE WEALTH OF KNOWLEDGE IS SECOND TO NONE.
My question is about a Remington R100A "dollar knife" etched on blade.The backspring puzzles me says" patten pending" its like no other spring in my collection.Check out the pics let me know what it is and its value,thanks in advance for the input!

Can't really say exactly on value (say between $120-200?, however, knife values seem to be weakening a little) but the knife was made in several variations and with several handle materials by Remington. It is one of the few Remingtons that sometimes have a punch blade without an acorn shield. I can say that the etch will really enhance the value and that your knife seems to be in excellent shape.

Thats a R100A, the R100B had a punch blade. The liner makes two 90 degree turns to enclose the backsprings. That was a good selling knife for Remington, they advertised it heavily and ads can still be found today showing that pattern. The etch looks to be a little light, but its still a very nice knife . I'd say around $175 - $185.

IIRC the liners and the four bolsters were all formed out of one piece of nickel silver to make those knives. Maybe that is why they could sell them at a lower price.
