BRL lists George W.Korn as being in business from ca 1880-1925 but not as a manufacturer(2nd edition)but rather as an inventor and perhaps a wholesaler.I didn't check the later editions as that one was close by.
He is probably best remember for his switchblade knives which are few and far between and very pricey.Knife World(the paper)did an article on him in the 1970's.I have it around(actually I was just going through them the other day)and will dig it out and post more info.Looks to be in good shape and is definitely collectible.

Interesting... just as an aside, G. W. Korn is also known for patents in Germany and US for a knife in the shape of a bottle with a two-pronged attachment, rather than a worm, for removing the cork. These are quite rare and, sadly, I don't have one to show. Does anyone have one? Apologies for taking this slightly off topic.

Here is the article in Knife world;I was way off on the date.It is the March 1989 issue.I hope this is readable as I photographed the article;I don't have a functioning scanner.

These are corn knives and razors.Used to remove corns(growths on a foot from wearing too tight a shoe).Blades were very thin and sharp in order to slice the flesh cleanly.NOT ME!

Re: george w. korn straight razor
Thank you for the kind words.I have a fairly good library of knife books and catalogs starting around 1970 that to me are priceless for gleaning information.I also have an original Maher & Grosh catalog with supplements and an ordering envelope from the late 1890's that someone gave to me years ago.I've seen repros but this one is original.
A friend of mine who owned a knife store back in Massachusetts was going out of business and sold me his entire collection the American Blade magazine from Volume 1 Number 1 up(and in binders) for $50 and that was the best investment I ever made.
I also have numerous knife auction catalogs from various houses that help ID knives although the prices are a bit dated.I will never pass up a book on knives(or sign painting;my profession).
