Case Knife Info

I would appreciate any and all information on this recent gem of a Case knife I have acquired. By the tang stamp I beleive it to be 1920-1940 vintage which is almost unbelievable as it is in such great condition. I can not find any info on the pattern. Is this green bone handles? I have included a photo with it next to a 4 1/4" trapper for size reference. Thanks to all who reply.

I believe your knife is a Case tested 6294J. If its original ,it's quite valuable. Others will be along with more info I'm sure.

Tim is correct, a Case Tested 6294J, 1920's to 1930's era. That looks like one of the nicest examples of that pattern that I have ever seen.
If you are interested in selling it, PM me.

Pocket knife trader's guide vol. 8 shows the value in mint condition to be 3250.00
A very nice knife indeed, even though it is not mint, it is still a valuable knife.
Good find !!!!

That's a knife I would love to check under magnification.
May have original factory edge.
Again, sure would like to look at it up close.
From photo looks original!

The knife is called a "Big Cigar" pattern, it should be 4 1/4 closed. Very nice knife you have there!

This is one of those once in a lifetime finds. It involved mostly luck as I didn't have any idea of the knifes age or value. It was a nice USA made knife in excellent condition with larger blades. I carry and use a knife for many things including cutting fruits and veggies at work or camping so I liked the blade size. I haggled a little bit then bought it. I have not nor will I clean it. I'm sure it will polish to new condition. The edge is virgin and sharp. I somewhat collect knives but this one is way out of my league so I guess I'll sell it. Thanks to all the forum members who provided the information.

I wouldn't cut any more fruit or veggies with it if I were you. the stain will be permanent and lower the value.
Great find, great knife.

Nice find, a great knife. Let the new owner decide what to do with it, any attempt to clean it to get more will only lower the value. Stick around if you like knives, this is a great place to learn, and I'm sure someone here would love to take it off your hands.
