This is in auction for one of the knives from Johnnie Fain's collection. Johnnie was a Moderator on AAPK until his death in March 2009. We are auctioning off some more knives and books to help Johnnie’s widow, Annettee.

The following item is up for auction: HENRY SEARS & SON

MAKER: Henry Sears & Son
PATTERN: Harness Jack
CLOSED LENGTH: 3-3/8”
BOLSTERS: nickel silver
SHIELD: nickel silver
HANDLES: horn
BLADES: Clip & punch blades
LINERS: brass
TANG STAMPS: (partly missing) –HEMRY SEARS (in arch)/& SON/1865/MADE IN U.S.A.
CONDITION: fair
DAMAGE: Nicks & dings, a cut on the mark side handle, considerable blade loss.
BLADE WEAR: Near 40% on main blade. About ¼” short also.
SNAP: Pretty good, but punch is a bit weak on closing
AGE: Goins dates this tang stamp as 1897-1959.

ADDITIONAL INFO: It is what it is, a mostly used up, but good quality old knife. I don’t doubt that you could sharpen it and use it until there was no blade left. They don’t make them like this any more.
