frank buster, sheffield england

hi everyone, i'm new to this forum but i've been collecting knives of all types since i was a youngster and that was a long time ago!!! last year i picked up a knife from ebay that i'd like to get some info on if possible. the front tang is stamped "FRANK BUSTER CUTLERY" and the back tang is stamped "SHEFFIELD ENGLAND". the knife is 4 1/4" closed and almost 8" open. the backspring has filework which wraps around the bottom of the handle and continues inside the handle the full length. the back of the blade has the same filework. can anyone tell me when the knife was made and is this one of a kind or was it part of a larger run? thanks in advance.

Mr. Frank had some exhibition grade display knives made in Sheffield,England instead of Solingen,Germany. Most were made in very low quantities and some were one of a kind. I have never owned any of these display knives and know very little about them. The tang stamp would indicate that it was made pre 1982. It seems odd that the tang stamp seems to be struck several times. You might want to give Sterling Buster a call at Cuz's Antiques in Lebanon,TN and see what he says about it. Hope this helps.
