All About Pocket Knives

I bought this knife yesterday thinking that it is a Queen Peanut - 1961-1971, based on the Winterbottom? scales and the lack of tang stamp. What do you all think? Sorry for the crappy pic, it's the sellers.

A little searching through the AAPK stores shows the nail nick in a different position on the marked Queen peanuts. Is this a factor? If it were a '61-'71 Queen would the scales be bone or delrin?

Tom, I agree with you and Ray. I would have thought it was a Queen also. In that pattern I would guess bone. Just a guess though.

If it is a Queen, ya think $12.25 was a good price?

i believe its a queen #14 pattern in delrin winterbottom and you may find when you get it in your hand that there is a very very faint hard to see etch on main blade seen a lot like that

Troy, I believe you hit it right on the head with #14 in Delrin. I'll take a good close look when I get it. Since the knife does not appear to have been sharpened very much, I would think that there shoud be a trace of the etch. Thanks fellers.

Got the peanut yesterday and Troy was correct. There is a faint etch on the blade Queen Steel #14 and no tang stamp. Thanks for your input folks. Been used and sharpened, badly I might add, lots of scratches on blades. Knife is solid though with good snap open, half and close. Needed a drink of oil bad.

for less than 15.00 you got a great user it will probably still outlast 5 rough riders also glad to hear i was correct on your knife ive spent a lot of the last 30 years referencing and collecting there knives ,with as many knives as they have made in the last 90 years there is really no one good source of info on there products,
