I mess with old milsurp stuff every now and then and I've been aware of this for a long time. I haven't posted any links to these before because the best I site I'd found gave detailed descriptions on the photo etching process used in a lot of the fakes out there. I figured if those that read this forum to see if their stuff is getting noticed want to improve their wares, they can do the legwork. I'm not going to hand it to them on a platter.
That being said.

The Nazi dress daggers are also a hotbed of fakes. You'd better damn sure know your stuff if you don't want to get burned in that game. Some of the modern fakes are good enough to fool the experts. ::disgust:: I guess the high side to that is, people will quit messing with them and demand will drop and the counterfeit cottage industry will find something else to mess with for a bit.

Happy New Year. ::ds::

You see these about once every week or two on the sword forums,and they are getting better at it.People ask for the "translations" of the information engraved on the sword they bought on "evilbay"only to find out they got royally screwed by the Chinese. http://cgi.ebay.com/WWII-JAPANESE-ARMY- ... 336144dcc7 There are litrally dozens of these pieces of crap there,all meant to f'''''' you out of your money.
