All About Pocket Knives

I have been reading a lot of the posts here and what handle material is used comes up quite often.

Personally, I like natural Stag or Jigged Bone the best.

What handle material do like the very best on a knife be it a new or old knife?

I like stag and ivory, not just for beauty but also for its durability! Even old, cracked stag or ivory still looks good! Pearl and Abalone are gorgeous, but I don't carry them for fear of dropping the knife! Cracked pearl just doesn't look as good.

I had to go with stag and pearl. I own a lot more with bone handles than those two put together, but that's a matter of economics, not taste.
I don't think I would want to carry a pearl or abolone handled knife but hey, I've got knives that will never grace my pockets. Some are just for admiring.

Picked both stag and bone but to me there is nothing nicer than some vintage jigged bone handles.

Picked bone and ivory, Monk your Case 6347 is a prime example of my favorite.

If you want old beautiful bone try this. Big cattle pattern stamped WINCHESTER with a NAPANOCH punch.

Here is a 1920's JACK KNIFE BEN cattle knife with the WINCHESTER bone and a NAPANOCH punch blade.

JKB, love that old bone! Especially like the propellor shield; very nice knives and thanks for sharin' them.

Out here in the Pacific NW we hardly get to see anything like what is in your collection. I really appreciate seein' these beautiful old knives that I have only read articles about.

To me there is nothing more beautiful than a piece of fine Ivory.

Thanks guys, that's a T. Bose Backpocket pattern. Some of the most gorgeous grain I have ever seen in Ivory.

Ramrod don't forget Fighting Roosters, Hen and Roosters, Bulldogs, and many Schrades to name a few all have modern synthetic (plastic, acrylic, celluloid, delrin etc.) handles.
