WOW!! Very nice. WWII Era? The only way it could get any nicer is if the price were reduced to where I could afford it.

According to Goins, 1924 to 1933. It may be just the angle of the lens or camera, but the spear blade doesn't look quite right to me.
Maybe Remington Collector or Philco will stop by and give us the benefit of his knowledge.

To be exact, it is a model R5, it has the vertical lift tab on the can opener. It was produced from 1929-1932.

Paladin that spear blade is correct. The spear blade on that model is slimmer than the blade used on the more frequently seen RS3333 official scout. I have the shabby twin to that one and the blade on mine has an identical profile (if not etch and factory finish ) to the one selling on ebay.
Watching the price on that one climb reinforces my original decision made when I began collecting scout knives to not try and buy mint examples.

Here is my mint 75th Anniversary Boy Scout Knife. Maybe in another 75 years it will be worth some money.

Thanks, Phil! The slimmer profile is the part that bothered me. The typical Remington spear is a big beefy thing.

Wonder if it will bring as much as the RS3333 that sold a while back? The one that still had the cellophane on when the auction started.

How much did that one go for,Bill?........I think this one will hit around $750.....just a guess.

I think this one will bring more, the RS3333 is a fairly common knife even in unused condition.

This pattern is rarely seen in unused condition.

Just bought the RS4233.
Hard to find in that condition.
A great knife with box at a reasonable price.
