Case Tested Clasp or Not?

Hey guys and gals,

What are your honest opinions on this brown bone Clasp? I had bought this some ago on an online auction. The only reason I ask is the jigging on the bone, I've never seen jigging on a tested like this. I've looked over every 5mm of the knife with a loupe and its the only thing I can question. Sure its been cleaned but really far from mint. Interesting is that the inner backspring appears cleaned as well. No pics of it but is shiny and pitted? All observations welcome.... The blade has a bit of wobble as well... ::hmm::

Looks like a Case Classic to me. The Case Classics as far as I know all had the year stamped on them somewhere. Of course it may have been altered. Post the knife on the Case Classics forum on this site and you will get an answer right away.

Thanks Steve,

I can do that for sure. I wish the pics were better though, this knife looks much older than 20 years or so ::shrug::

No its definitley not an original Tested. Its either a Case Classic or just a counterfeit. Sorry to be the bringer of bad news.... ::tear::

Steve, Not a problem. Thats what I'm looking for, and why I'm here. I'm quite aware that the tested circa may be one of the most counterfeited of the Case knives. And I do appreciate your candor ::nod:: I'm am positive this is not the first of my collection to be something else than I thought.

Thanks, Alan
