Yep they need to get real. I ordered a knife from them once and the knife was somewhere around $75 and S&H was nearly $13  I asked them what the deal was and they told me they had to pay for Boxes and supplies,I said do what the USPS gives shipping boxes to the rest of the world and only charges $4.95 for Priority shipping, And that they needed to call their Postmaster and complain  It wasn't Received well. Needless to say no more ordering from them ::huff:: and if I go in there the tax is like 10 1/2% ::doh:: so I try and stay clear of them. They have gotten way to big for their own Britches as we say in the south :x :x :x

When in the Knoxville area, I enjoy stopping in their store just to look around.
However, its been a long time since I have bought from their box store or catalog.
They get you either with their shipping costs from catalog or state and local sales tax when buying in store.

Some companys get to big and forget about quality service only making every cent they can from you. (made in china)
I recently ordered a knife from their "Knives Live" show at a certain price red ink, with $5.00 shipping 3 weeks later it arrived and they had charged me $20.00 more than what Slick & Hick were hawking it for. A call to them resulted in " well sir thats what the computer says the price is you must have been mistaken"
Sorry for such a long rant. Been wanting to unload this for months.

Sounds like they ought to change their name to,"Smoke and Mirrors Knife Works". Never dealt with them and from what I see on this thread doubt I ever will.Nothing like good old word-of-mouth advertising.

yanno, they fill a void. as a kid i bought numerous frost and parker knives,
the "cheap" knives of the day. I couldn't afford nicer, and had no knowledge
as to why they were higher. But it instilled a love for knife collecting, still have
all the old cheapos (although i am thinking of dumping the pakisatns)
Still have the "smoky mtn toothpick"! also bought a small pearl handled knife
that all the kids love, so smkw has the "modern" version for 5 bucks.
can't find them elsewhere, and I enjoy the NKCA museum on the rare
occasion I get to go up there. Jim Parker and Jim Frost, "their" knives
were it for me, unless I found a victorinox I didn't have yet!!!
Used to love the old PM Ltd catalogs ::tu::
thanks guys
