I found this at a local antique mall recently. The only mention I can find of Canaco knives of Switzerland is a lot of 5 currently available on ebay. One of the the lot looks identical to this one. Anybody have information on Canaco?

Trail,
Goin's Encyclopedia of Cutlery Markings has a listing for "Candco Switzerland" g. 1950-1970.
I can't help but wonder if that "d" in Candco is not a typo. That was all the info provided so even if it was meant to be spelled "Canaco" you still wouldn't have much to go on.

Thanks, Phil. I got lots of hits on Candco including an identical knife to mine at Cutlers Cove, so it appears Goins is right (no surprise there). Sure looks like Canaco on the tang, but maybe it was just a light hit. I believe we have expanded the universe of Swiss-made pocket knife brands by 50%, beyond the well-known Victorinox and Wenger.

Very recently, this pocket knife arrived in a group or lot of pocket knives that I purchased. This pocket knife now becomes my first example to be posted under this topic or thread. I did NOT purchase the group or lot of pocket knives just to obtain this particular pocket knife. However, it did turn out to be a keeper. It did get added to my general, “foreign born” pocket knife accumulation. It is a Candco, one blade, two tang stamps, 4” closed, 6 1/2” open, florist, pattern or style of pocket knife. The main blade front tang stamp says, “Candco (written) (over) STAINLESS” The main blade back tang stamp says, “MADE IN (over) SWITZERLAND” The main blade does have a WEAK half stop. The main blade does have a VERY GOOD opening snap. The main blade does have a NASTY closing snap. Overall, this pocket knife is in GOOD condition. This pocket knife did NOT need any cleaning at all. I just wiped it off. I took some pictures and here it is.
