If I'm not mistaken, muskrat blades were only used from 65-69 era. Knife is pure junk.

I came across this jewel earlier today.
First thing that came to my mind was,,,what a pitifull fake tested knife.

this candy stripe looks like a 1990s case classic made by queen. just for its beauty it is worth something as a rebuilt knife if properly disclosed as such.$50??. any thoughts ?? thank you

Hi John and Most of us here at AAPK try not to give 1 red cent to any seller of fake knives. That is unless we get taken by a fake then they get put on here and handled as such. Buying from the sellers of fakes is kinda like giving the enemy bullets. This particle seller is well known to most all here on AAPK and is dodged.

yes these sellers are very crooked and should be avoided or worse. i am just in love with the candy stripe handles. they make anything look kinda good! some of those phony bone and stags can look pretty bad sometimes when its done all wrong. this is the prettiest fake i have seen.

I'm guessing this guy spends more time putting together phony knives than he does proof reading his text......the sad thing is I'm relatively knew to knife collecting and old candy stripes are my weakness, this is the kind of knife I could accidentally be suckered into buying,,,,,,,,keep up the good work exposing this guy. I was at a knife show recently and I saw a knife with waterfall handles that I loved and he offered it to me for 10 bucks which I almost dove for my wallet, and then he went on to explain he got it from a buddy that was a novice knife tinkerer and that nothing matched, he was as honest and upfront as could be and I ended up not buying the knife but at least he portrayed it for what it was........over 200 bucks for this candy stripe frankenknife is not right!

Quite ironic I would say, as many bogus knives as this man has sold, I noticed he recently got a negative feedback for a counterfeit coin....

I'd like to knock a few of his "FILLings" out of his mouth.

And the claim of buying parts from "Mr. Jim Parker"....absolute FARCE. There's a dealer from the state of Kentucky who sets up at knife shows who has all kinds of parts and handle materials, I know where he gets his "old finds". It's convenient to verify where the "parts" came from with someone deceased. Whats this guy's real name? Anyone know?

His Ebay ID is short for Red Headed Stranger. Whether he looks like Willie Nelson or just liked that particular album, I'm not sure.

If I remember correctly, he is quite young twenty-four or so.

He does not make the knives himself. He buys them from a parts seller/knife mechanic/builder that we have all seen at knife shows around the SouthEast.

I've discussed the problem of these knives with him at great length. He doesn't recognize them as being a problem.

I've made it very plain to him that any money he gets for one of these over the going price of a good, current production EDC, i.e. fifty to seventy-five dollars is fraudulently earned.

He doesn't seem to care. He is not going to stop.

I really don't think he's been around vintage knives long enough himself to understand how wrong his selling practices are.

I'm almost willing to believe that the supplier of the knives has deluded him and he frankly doesn't know any better.

I said "almost willing to believe". He's now been told by enough honest collectors such that any reasonble man or boy would have changed their ways by now.

He hasn't.

I have been to many knife shows in the last year, is the person who makes these knives a rather large guy in his early- mid 40's?

If it's the one I'm thinking of, he is slim, of short stature and balding head.

His table consists mostly of boxes of parts, but there is always a scattering of what looks like very nice vintage knives in the center of the table, lying flat on the table cloth.

Charlie...you are correct. At the Parker Show in Seveirville...3rd Aisle Front table. If its not him...they share alot in common.

Yep the fellow from Kentucky,always has them same tables at that show.
