All About Pocket Knives

Hi all,

Although i loved pocket knives, i am very new to the hobby and so far i only have one small hunting knife(Roman Taiwan <-- thats what it says ). So i was wondering what do you guys use the knives for ?

I think the most use they get from folks on here, is opening the new knife packages that come in the mail....lol

I guess I've carried a knife for so long (60 years) that I take them for granted and don't understand your question. Backing off and thinking about all the things my knives have done for me, I would have to say,
picking splinters out of my hands
lancing a boil
cutting string, cardboard, paper, plastic
cleaning fish
butchering game
slicing fruit
whittling
shaving fire starter
etc
etc

Those are my users. Most of my accumulation (collectors have focus ) are safe queens and stay locked up in my safe or gun cabinet. Those I look at, fondle, polish, show off and enjoy.

If you take a shine to knives, what you do with them will be up to you.

I only use a few of mine to actually cut stuff. The rest of them just sit in a drawer most of the time until I take them out to play with them.

Thanks for the replies everybody so now i know that i am not alone , i look at my knife, hold it in my hands, open and close it several times and then when its time to sleep, i lock it up

I use mine to collect the fuzz from my pockets.

Pretty much what Jerry said along with cutting and cleaning my fingernails. LOL
