I now own 2 of these one is an Ulster and I just got this Kenn Kutter, made by Walden Knife Co, I think. Picked it up at a gun show in Arizona. Had it listed in mail call thread but figured I would flush out some more by starting a new thread!!!

Thank God!! I was beginning to think I'm the only one that has any doctor's knives. I have several but here's a couple to get it started. The file names identify them except for the eight in the bottom of the cigar box, which are a set of the '96 & '97 Parker Family Tree series with celluloid handles.

Galvanic, that Keen Kutter is a beauty and in excellent condition too boot. I don't have any doctor's knives myself.

Galvanic, it's beginning to look like the question should have been, "Who doesn't have any doctor's knives." There would have been more traffic. I'm amazed this is a "doctor knife free zone".

These aren't as nice as what you guys are showing.
First is a pre-WWII pearl handled Robeson and second is its post-war brother in strawberry bone.

I think they're very nice Charlie. I wouldn't kick them out of my accumulation for eating crackers.

Are you people serious? Only three out of all the AAPK members have stuck any of their hard earned into doctors knives? Well, this is just pathetic. What other patterns get no respect?

Jerry,

I don`t buy "New" knives.

Vintage knives in a doctors pattern are hard to find, especially in excellent condition ::nod::

I can only speak for myself, but I tend to collect knife patterns I would use as well. I may buy two dozen congress knives (over time) and put them all away but one and use it. The doctor's knife has never seemed FOR ME to be a very useful pattern and thus I've not been drawn to it particularly. I think I have one or two somewhere. They are fine looking knives and I certainly understand why some folks like them, but for me and the ways I use a knife, they are not "user friendly".

I certainly have no quarrel with those who don't find them useful. From a personal point of view, they've worked out fine for me. Even though, over the years I've carried multi-blade knives, I've never really needed or seldom used more than one blade. I've carried a couple of the doctor knives and found them very pocket friendly. In fact, a USA Winchester is one of the knives I lost to Homeland Security (I tend to be a bit forgetful).

I'm not trying to promote them here. I buy my knives because I like the looks of them. I thought everyone did. Rats, wrong again.

Lord please help me. I'm so shallow.

Knives are like women, what suits one fella doesn't do it for another. My grandma used to say, "There's a lid for every pot."

Well, thank you for that. I was beginning to feel so unloved. (even though it's not my thread I seem to be the one pushing it :P )

That's a beauty. I didn't know Buck put out any doctor's knives. As I've "discovered" other patterns, I've slacked off the doctors but they are still a majority in my little accumulation.

Thanks guys. I needed this.

Gmusic, those Queen made Case Classics are not only great to look at, but are really well made. Thanks for posting them up.

Bighead, how did you capture the fire in that gorgeous pearl? Don't let that one get away.
