Not bad looking and good steel but I prefer a darker jigged handle looks wise.

Looks like a cool knife! Those scales are nice especially with that shield.

The curved handle is pure eye candy after 3+ years of straight versions. The smooth bone is beautiful, the blade configuration is not my favorite. If money was no problem, I would buy this one just for being the first of it's kind made by GEC. As it is, by the time I save enough to get my current favorite, 2 more have come along that I want just as bad. This dogleg jack is about #4 on my list now, preceded by the ebony executive whittler, the cocobolo sunfish & the cocobolo lil carver. Darn, GEC makes knives faster than I make money!

That jackknife is a beauty. I saw a jigged green bone version that I really liked. s-k

Great size, awesome blade choice, and sexy curves! I've held off on the last few new GEC models, they just haven't done it for me (though I did pick up, customize and carry one of the 26 carvers). This might break the dry spell.

I got mine yesterday! I really like the size and style and can't wait to see it in Northfield configuration. I think the ebony scales are classic as is the reverse dogleg. The knife is a nice sturdy pattern with more heft than the Case 07, which is also a nice feature. The springs are stiff, but not too stiff. My only critique is that I would have liked to have seen half stops on the blades. I've got a feeling that the ebony may sell out quickly!

Looks great in Ebony too! Had a tough time choosing between the Ivory Bone and the Ebony.
#22 in Ebony is on it's way to me via US Mail. Can't wait!

Hey Mike, I really like the way these feel in the hand and the bonus of 1095 which is sooo easy to sharpen.

My #56 arrived today. Excellent knife with perfect fit and finish. Feels great in the hand and has nice organic lines. Reminds me of a large version of a peanut knife. Sharpened it up and put it in my pocket almost immediately. My only complaint is the dull cutting edge. Funny that my two favorite knife manufacturers GEC and Queen/Schatt have some of the worst out of the box edges in the business. Kinda sad considering the price. Not much of a problem for me as I always re-profile and sharpen most new knives that I intend to carry. My only Rough Rider purchase of $7 was shaving sharp out of the box. Don't understand why higher end USA manufacturers have trouble putting a decent edge on a knife at that price point.

I'm thinkin' the "'New #48 Trapper Jack""" due out soon, @ 3 7/8 inches,will be more to my liking for a personal user

Isn't it funny how that happens? Sometimes I will dismiss a pattern when I first see it, and stay focused on other things, and then one day I'll "discover" it, and wonder how I ever overlooked it.

The 56 was like that for me …

Now I have an Antique Yellow Bone for EDC, and a Prim Bone for keepin' … that yellow has become one of my favorite EDCs …
