A Question Re; Case V44

Does anyone have one of the old Case XX Bowies that is incorrectly sold as a V44.
I just became owner of this one an am trying to decide what to handle it with? It is rather rough but you take what you can find. I would like to see a closeup of knife, especially to get a handle on length width and thickness along with particular look of handle. A couple of photos would be appreciated. I am really leaning toward a nice crown of Elk. Thanks to all.

The length of the new ones are 9.5" blade, 14.5" OA. Don't know if that helps any.
Your blade length must be 9 3/8" or so, right?

Here's what the new ones look like: http://cgi.ebay.com/CASE-BLACK-HANDLE-B ... 1985713037

Moss,

I have the same knife that someone stuck a round piece of wood on for the handle

I guess the handles on the Case models did not hold up to well ::shrug::

Here's a link to a Collins that looks just like your Case.
