A Quick Stag Brag- some Pumas from the Bushdocta Downunda...

G'day from Australia. Just a few shots of the some of the Puma Stags I've collected over the last few months, mainly from fleabay (Way down here your options for collecting knives are very limited, and with new knife laws collecting knives is becoming quite an antisocial pastime- drat!). As a youngster I always admired Puma knives (usually from the other side of the glass countertop) and a recent wave of nostalgia has led me down a path of no return. It's such a big world of knives out there so I decided to fixate...errr I mean focus....on stag handles, and early Pumas have some of the best examples of these (in my opinion). I have a couple of post 2000's in the collection, but am no where near as impressed with them as I am with the earlier ones - they just have that something extra in detail and weight. Hope you like 'em....... ::tu::

I agree, there's something special about those old Pumas... ::nod::

I still remember one special old Puma I was shown a couple of years ago:

Nice collection of Stag handle Puma`s! ::drool::

I have a few fixed blade knives from the 1960`s and you can`t beat the stag handles they used on these knives ::nod:: ::tu::

Nice group you have gathered up Bushdocta. ::tu::

Puma was a brand that captured my fancy as well back when I was younger and had no way of doing more than looking. By the time I could afford to buy myself one, the quality had declined to the point that when I did purchase my first Puma, I ended up sending it back for a refund. What a disappointment. ::tear::
The older ones are a totally different story. They were very well made showing true craftsmanship and the stag was top notch on most I have seen from that era. Thanks for sharing your collection with us.

Fine lookin bunch of cats!

Damn shame Oz is goin the same way as the UK about the EVIL knife.

I had WAY too much fun gettin "pissed" with the Aussie's and the Kiwi's in Singapore back in '72. Those lads knew how to party! ::tu::
