All About Pocket Knives

I just now looked at Great Eastern's New Release page. The newest knife up is the Tidioute Cutlery Cattle Baron and it's a real beauty! I especially like that it's on the large #53 frame.

Also, when my wife and I met Ken Daniels at the A. G. Russell Knife Event, he swore us to secrecy after he told us about the impending release of this knife. (The subject came up when I asked him if I missed any 2010 stockman knives this year, which he told me they haven't released any yet until now.)

Anyway, I can hardly wait to get my hands on one of these babies!

from what someone told me, its supossed to be the same frame as the mink skinner, i hope its true, if its clip , spay, sheepsfoot, combonation, iam planning on getting one, that cattle barron is very temping though, but a liitle bigger than i think i wanna carry, but i may have to get one anyway !

any word if there will be more handle variations offered in that cattle barron ??

The will have a Pearl Looking Glass and Smooth White Bone laser etched in both the 3 and 4 blade Tidioute models.

yea iam not a fan of that golden rod either, but the white bone sounds interesting, i do like how they have kept all 3 blades, and added the punch, some knifes sacrifice a blade for that.

Absolutely about the extra blade.

From the photo it looks like there's a cut away for ease of blade access. I think this will give the four-blade more of a custom look.

I don't mind the Goldenrod, I just don't care that much for the "wave" jigging. Yes, the white bone is what I'll be looking for on the three-blade.

Which is as they should be and the way I like 'em! If I had my way (Thank goodness I don't. ) all the GEC's themselves would be bigger and thicker.

I like the way they feel in the pocket. If I don't have pocket room or am wearing church cloths, I can always use a folder sheath.
To me this is one of the biggest things that sets our favorite knife company apart, the stoutness of the frames and blades!

Here's my Cattle Baron I just got in the mail. It feels very solid.

Looks great I have a Cattle Baron on order, should arrive early this week, hope it is as handsome as yours.

Well I've put in a fair amount of OT to put my GEC collection together...If they wern't such nice knives I mite take a break now
and then...Thank you for the kind words, I do hang the genuine stags on the wall, but the other display is just to large...so I use
an old drafting table to sit it on, works quite well and has just enough angle to easily see the knives. I think these 3 and 4 blade
big stockmen will be good one's to collect...I believe I'll put a few back...

Here's a few more pics for comparison between the Cattle Baron and a Stockman, both having the same frames.

The Stockman is one of my EDC's, which I've tuned up the main blade edge to razor sharp.

Wow,..the stockman isn't what I'd call a small knife(i have one in my EDC group),and that cattle knife looks really sturdy. Those overhead and underneath pics really helped see the difference.

That is one fine looking knife. Yours has the best color of any of the photos I have seen of those. Very nice.
