Harold, here is a catalog cut of the etch.
Roger that is a beautiful knife, now I feel bad asking about the etch. Had never seen one with the letters like on that knife.

Here are two NYK Company pen knives. The top one a senator or equal end (the earlier one I believe) has pick bone covers, fully intact blade etch and is 3 & 1/8 inches. The bottom one a sleeve board has cocobolo covers, fully intact blade etch and is 3 & 3/8 inches. The top one has a 3 line tang stamp New York/Knife Co/Walden on both blades and the bottom one a Hammer Brand with arm and hammer on the primary blade and the small blade New York/Knife Co/Walden.

Two very NYK pen knives, Lloyd! ::tu:: ::tu:: I like the clip blade on the cocobolo one, but, the other one, with the old picked bone, ringed bolsters and bar shield is a real beauty. Etches on both to boot!

Roger, those are beautiful 4 1/4" cigars you are showing in previous page. Quite a handful of a knife. A real working tool.

Lloyd, I think your NY pens are fine treasures. I wish mine looked like that.

Ike, very nice small Jack ::tu:: That jigged bone is great! That is what I call divot jigged bone. Some say this was made using the George Schrade jigging machine. I don’t think anyone knows for sure but whatever the case that is gorgeous jigged bone and the reddish brown color is very attractive ::nod:: This style of bone treatment came after the famous NYK company pick bone. I believe it was Schrade, NYK and Walden Knife companies that did a joint venture jigging operation for a few years until Schrade took it over. This is why many of these companies pick bone and jigged bone look very similar. Now whether they all used the same bone handle jigging personnel I don’t think anyone knows definitively but the results are certainly similar.
