All About Pocket Knives

Now, I've had folks to take that as north Los Angeles, but no, it is north LouisianA.

62 years old, and going to stay at 62 as long as possible. Retired mechanical engineer with a gun disease and a knife disease. Medication for one generally aggravates the other. Currently, my knife disease has flared up. It's been a pretty bad case of it this time.

I have bought probably 10-14 new knives this year so far. I'm afraid to look back to see just how many. I am a member of several other online forums: Rimfire Central, Graybeard Outdoors, RC Universe, RC Groups, BladeForums, KnifeForums.

I do have another disease - RC modeling, building and flying radio controlled sailplanes (or gliders). The RC forums above are where I get infections of that affliction. But that does not have anything to do with pocket knives unless stripping balsa and trimming monokote and carving balsa parts has applicability here.

Anyway, I found this forum recommended in the RimfireCentral/Production Knives forum. The guys over there have cost me a fair amount of money by showing me their stuff. Anyway, here I am. I'll spend some time looking around at some of the threads and you'll see me stick my toe in to test the waters soon, I'm sure.

Well, the bad news is that you may not have knife disease, I am not sure about your gun disease, that is not my area of expertise.
Only 10 -14 knives so far this year? The year is half over. You have not even averaged a knife per week.

But you have come to the right place!
In no time we can have you up to 10-14 knives per month.
If you are really lucky you might even hit the 10-14 knives per week status.
And if you really really work at it, you just might hit the SUPERSTAR status of 10-14 knives per day.
But to do that you really have to work at it and work hard at some useless job to be able to afford your knife habit or be independently wealthy..........(but not for long)!

I think the knife disease is incurable, but the good news is it's one of the more pleasant diseases..!

I want to thank all of you for the warm welcome although I did not detect much sympathy for my knife-itis ailment.

You can mention any other forum you like here. Most of are probably members of that forum as well.

Not only am I a member of AAPK, but I am also a member of these other forums:

Plus several other knife forums that I can't remember the names of at the moment.
There a few also that are not just knife forums but that include knife content as well.

It is not uncommon to see links to a BladeForums or BritishBlades post here on AAPK.
We are not the biggest forum or oldest forum, but we are arguably the friendliest and IMHO "The Best!"

Oh yes....................... we are probably the LEAST SYMPATHETIC knife forum when it comes to Knifeaholism.
In fact, you could accuse us of being enablers!
We kind of like it that way!

Hi Ed:
Welcome aboard. Sorry to inform you I just found ls late last week two slide actions 25 remington.s and one model 12 .22. Half the time one can find doubt with what I say but this time it is for real. Of course they do all need considerable help. One of these days I will post some pics in the off topic discussion forum.
