Dad's Kalinga

Went to see my dear old Dad today. We got to messing around and digging through some stuff in the gun closet. He dragged this thing out and asked me if I remembered it.

I did.

I don't remember exactly when Dad bought this knife. It was shortly after Buck offered this model for sale. He bought his first one and we were cutting a mule deer down to size and the edge gapped out when dad chopped the leg bones. He wasn't real happy and wrote Buck telling them about it. They said "Send 'er back!" and replaced it with this one. I have no idea how many deer this thing has gutted.

Nothing like memories to go with a special knife! Great story ;)

My Dad always carried a Buck knife to the fields, he had a 119 that he used allot, it's hard to look at it without remembering him.
Thats why I love knives so much, even though they don't talk they still can tell you stories.

Nice knife, Wullie.
Looks like it's done it's duty.
