Case Electrician's Knife

I'm a little unsure of this one. On the tang is the dating system stamp Case started using in 2000 but the "S" in Case is the lightning bolt "S". I couldn't find that type of "S" in any of the research data I have for that dating system. Did they use the lightning bolt "S" in 2000? Thanks,

This is an authentic 2001 Case stamp . This knife was made by Camillus for case .

On recent Case pocket knives the lightning "S" in the word CASE is used if the knife is stainless steel. The regular "S" is used if the knife is CV. I do not recall exactly when this rule was started but it was after 1989 since from 1980-1989 all Case pocket knife tang stamps had the lightning "S" in the word CASE. I believe that the newer rule started in 1990 but it may have been later in the 1990's. I believe that this rule (lightning S - stainless, regular S - CV) continues to be applied on the current 2010 decade tang stamp.
