All About Pocket Knives

Reputed to be an earlier pattern than the more graceful Stockman, I like them both. The equal ender has a more "basic" look and feel that brings me back in time. Here are three from different eras.
An XX Redbone, a Tested Greenbone, and a W.R. Early Rodgers Bone.
Have you got any interesting 45s??

Upnorth, not meaning to get off subject but do you have a picture handy of the Case, I think it was a cigar pattern, straight XX 40-64 tang stamped knife that has the transition Tested era shield on it? I remember looking at the knife in a post you made on here but I've searched for it again and can't seem to find it. It's a really nice knife. Thanks.

Aimus, I think the bottom knife here has the shield you mean. But I think you mean a different knife. I'll look further.

Yes, it's a different knife that you have. It's tang stamped Case XX the 40-64 era and the shield has the closed C in the word Case like the Tested era shields have. It's a beautiful knife but I can't find the post where you showed it. I have been talking with a family member about transition knives and wanted to show him the Case XX era knife with a Tested era shield. My family member is getting into knife collecting and has asked me a lot of questions so I figured showing a picture is easier than just telling him about them. I like to help anyone that wants to get into the hobby. Thanks.

I've shown these elsewhere, but since we have this new Case section, I thought I'd add them to the "45" thread.
They are a little fancier than usual, with the Bomb shield with "CASE" in reverse on it, and you can't see them in this pic, but the center liners are milled or "coined".
Purty knives, IMO!

This ol' cat was well loved! Still has great snap for an old boy. Looks like the only brass used in it's manufacture was the rocker pin. A wartime model perhaps?

The "45" is a pattern I really like. Being a newbie I have none to show (Case that is) but I'll bet it won't be too lonf B4 I add one to my fledgling collection.

What a beautiful knife that is. It is in such great condition. That amazes me, a knife that old.
Great slim pattern too with that unique shield lettering.

I got this old, used Tested 6345 1/2 for a good price. Makes a real nice pocket carry.

Here is Case & Sons Bradford 05245 1/2 which I have posted before in the 100 year old thread. This one pre-dates the Tested example posted earlier. The condition on this one reflects use and sharpening. The main blade is short and there is damage (chip) to the handle. The main blade stamp is faint, but the secondary blade stamp is bright. The main blade has a match striker long pull. The shield was made blank (i.e., no lettering) which is typical on the pre-tested knives.
