If your referring to the saw blade knife, you probably have this in mind?
But its some kind of US Marine Corps knife. Wait till Old Wullie reads your question,,he'll know what it is.

As far as the tool is concerned, I don't know. I can't tell it's purpose but I can tell you the USMC does not stand for United States Marine Corps. I've seen this logo on tools in the past and remember someone coming up with the company name but I can't recall it at this time (or probably any other time). It's something like United States Machinery Company or United States Machining Corp. or some such thing

And me bein an old airdale squid, I have no choice but to conclude, that it's a toothbrush for the jarheads...

The USMC is the abbreviation for United Shoe Machinery Co.

They were located in Beverly Mass. 1899-1972,there is a museum there now.

They also apparently made some specialized heavy equipment, see photo below.

I don't know guys. That looks an awful lot like the comb we used to comb cockleburrs out of our hair with. The Marine Corps gave all of them to the Army after they adopted the whitewall/crew cut hair.

It's still driving me nuts because I can't find the exact function of that tool
but while wandering around after a flock of chickens this morning, I found
this group of tools that were listed as "leather working tools". (how's that for
a run on sentence)

Note the tool on the right is marked USMC.

Brushing teeth with that thing was nothing, really. Flossing with boot laces took some doin.

It was used by a shoe laster to pull tacks when making shoes. They no longer use tacks they use glue so these tools are rarely if ever still used.
