Hey Guys,
First let me say sorry I do not have a pic. A friend has found a Small Stockman, Pattern # 32148, it has two baldes Clip/Pen. It is
2 3/4" long and has IM pearl Handles. It also has the tree brand Shield as well as stamped on the Blade. Any ideas? If it was a Case it would be easy.
Thanks In Advance, Alan

Hello Alan, to bad your not able to add a picture. It definitely helps. While I'm no expert, I believe what your friend has is actually a pen knife and not a stockman pattern. I'm saying this based on two things you mention, length, and the number of blades. Even a jr. stockman pattern is bigger than the knife you describe. Also, stockman patterns are a 3 bladed knife, ( a clip blade, spey blade, and generally a sheepfoot blade, though sometimes a punch. ). Try your ? on the Boker page. There are many knowledgeable folks there that could maybe be more specific to the pattern than myself. Bull

Hey Alan,
First take a look at the shield: Is it just a tree, or does it have "tree brand" underneath? If it does, and the handle material is delrin, your knife is from the mid 1960s. If it is just a tree, with no trademark symbol (r), your knife is pre 1976. If your tree has a trademark symbol, it was made after 1976.
Take a look at the tang stamp to help determine the age. If the tang stamp reads "Boker / USA", it was made sometime between 1945-1983. Take a look at this web page for some great info on dating Boker knives by the tang stamp
http://thehawkeco.com/knifesite/BokerNo ... notes.html. Hawke is an AAPK member!
I hope this helps. If you could post a pic, I'm sure we could tell you a little more.

Ranger, Your the man
I knew someone could help me out here. I will follow the link attached to find out more. The shield is of the Tree only and the tang stamp does say Boker USA. This helps a lot. I really appreciate your help. My friend found this knife and although he really likes it, Cars are his Hobby not knives. Since we sit next to each other at work he is quite aware of my passion so he asked me about it. I really just collect Case and the new found brands of the GEC company so I wasn't familiar with Boker. Maybe I can get him started in collecting knives. He thinks I a wizzard, NOT, but my passion shows....
Thank you once more

You're quite welcome. That combination of Boker/USA tang stamp and "Tree ONLY" shield tightens it up to 1945-1975 anyways... Most likely late sixties to early seventies if the handle is delrin ...
Look anything like these?

Yes Indeed, It is a pre 1976. There is no "R" under the tree on the shield. I did remember that originally I thought the Tang pattern was 82148, however the Stamp of the tree trunk in the middle of the pattern # led me to believe this. I have found the pattern number"8248", in the 1970-1973, pictorial with the same stamping number but my handle is definately some kind of white celluloid.
Thank you guys

Ranger,
Yes it does. That is it appears to be the one in the upper left corner of your pic. It does not have the match strike pull, nor the shallow bolsters. It does have the long pull as shown in the upper left pic. On Monday if he is carrying it I will check snd see if it has the double ringed bolsters. Handle material seems correct.
