need to heat treat and temper after making them? I would use nickle silver but I don't have any on hand. I'm thinking I probably should but if there is no need to it would save me time and trouble.

When I say levers I mean just the lever for a German Springer knife.

I don't think you would need to. nickle silver is not much harder than untempered steel, there really is not much wear on them or very much stress I see no need to temper

well that wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. It's too bad it not NS because it looks alittle off you know how the nickel silver has that almost faint hint of gold hue when it gets worn. And the 1095 is real chrome looking, anyways it works, it looks good, case closed.

A little bit of the stuff that they use to "blue" gun metal will also give nickel-silver that goldish look. It doesn't take much, but it does work.
