All About Pocket Knives

Anyone have any pics of old Case or Cattaraugus toes they would share; maybe even a swell-center? Sure would like to see some; that would be my dream find; to land one of those in super nice condition.

This one doesn't belong to me, although I had it for a couple of months and got rather attached before returning it. It belongs to a friend down the block who has a large collection of old toes. I think I'm going to need one of my own soon.

BTW : Many of his etoes are in his EDC rotation. He carries and uses them. He took this one out of his pocket to loan to me !

If he decides it needs a bit more pocket wear, I'd be glad to tote that beast around for a year or two.

Probably have to carry it on the days I wear my bib overalls though. I 'd probably wear 'em a LOT more often with something that neat in the pocket.

These are my favorite old ones. They are the pride of my collection. Case Brothers in stag. WR Case & Sons in pearl. Case Tested in green bone. Case XX in red bone.

I knew you guys had-um; all beautiful examples. elwood you've been blessed; what a foursome I only have one fairly old; this redbone XX. But I know there will be a Case Brothers or Tested; out there for me one day.

Elwood, knockout four knives you got there!
Those are worth more than I paid for my first house.

Here are two more of my sunfish knives..One is a Wilbert Cutlery, the other Is a Union Razor, Tidioute Pa.

You guys make me cringe when you open those toes to half stops on both blades for photos.
That puts tremendous stress on that large backspring.
They have been known to snap under that load.
Ask me how I know!

If the knives had been made with two backsprings, instead of one, that wouldn't be a problem.

This lovely old Sword Brand (3 line camillus) isn't mine it just stopped in for a new backspring (broke doing what 98% of the participants in this thread did when they took pics of thier knife) and cleaning.
